Background and Experience

Alwyn is currently Company Chair of Canolfan Hamdden Beaumaris Leisure Centre and in 2012 was instrumental in forming the Social Enterprise that took over the running of the Centre from the then Commissioners that were running Ynys Mon County Council.

Born and brought up in Bangor he has lived in Beaumaris for 54 years and is currently a member of Beaumaris Town Council. He was also a member of Ynys Mon County Council from 2013 to 2017, choosing not to stand at the last Council Election.

He has many years of experience with Regional and Local Community Development emanating from his many years as Full Time Regional Officer for what is now Unite the Union.

He is also Vice Chair of the Seiriol Alliance, which is an Organisation made up of Community and Council representatives from within the Seiriol Electoral Ward.

He is also Chair of the Trustee Board for Ynys Mon Citizens Advice.

Alwyn is always prepared to assist any Community Group or Social Enterprise to further their ambitions on behalf of their Local Community.
