  • Born in Dublin, 1941. Raised in Anglesey. Lives in Llanfechell.
  • Former environmental activist, lobbyist and organiser at local, national and EU levels.
  • National Director, Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (1981-87).
  • Chair, Greenpeace UK (1998-2004); Trustee, Greenpeace International.
  • Director, Centre for the Study of Environmental Change, Lancaster University (1990-2004).
  • Chair of advisory board, Institute for the Study of Welsh Estates, Bangor University (2014-present).
  • Co-founder/chair of Siop Mechell, Llanfechell’s community café & hub (2014-present).
